Purple Galaxy Sketchbook

Originally, I made this journal to try out a new variation of a half-binding and have had it on my shelf as decoration, but I decided it's time to let it go to someone who will actually use it!

The cover is made from genuine black leather and Belgian marbled paper. I love absolutely love the pattern of this paper. It reminded me of galaxies and space! I wish I had brass tools that were space themed so I could've done the gold design more galaxy or spacey but I only have nature related tools for now because they're extremely expensive (😢).

The endpages of this one are made from handmade Lokta paper. It's made from a shrub that only grows in high elevation areas of Nepal and has a really nice natural, almost felt-like texture. The oldest known document ever found in Nepal was actually written on this paper and is estimated to be over 1,000 years old! I also added a gold decorative border around the inside cover and stamped it with a little flower.

Inside are 160 pages of 75lb (111gsm) Richeson Drawing Paper. It's a heavyweight, velvet tooth drawing paper that is perfect for charcoal, pencil, and pastels. Bright white & acid-free. This journal will lay completely flat while writing/drawing.
