Arguably the most classic design in bookbinding history, the half-leather binding was created in the 19th century to save costs on full leather covers as the book publishing industry expanded. Leather was put onto the spine and corners of books because they received the most damage and wear overtime. Despite the cost cutting, two good side effects that came from this were beautiful decorative covers and the ability to make books more accessible to more readers.

This journal has 180 pages of 105 gsm lined writing paper and will lay completely flat while writing. It will accept fountain pen ink without feathering or bleeding, but the paper is not specifically made for them.
