Blue Mums Leather Journal

This journal and it's counterpart, the Green Blossom Leather Journal, were my first set of blank journals made with a "laced on board" construction. If you don't know what that is and want to find out, there's a process video on my Instagram showing it: Here

It has blue silk hand sewn headbands and a gold spine decoration done by me with individually heated brass tools. It is definitely my favorite spine decoration to date and I'm honestly a little sad to part with this journal! It's been on my bookcase for about a year now and I've so enjoyed looking at it every time I walk by.

The inside paper is my personal favorite to write on. It's a premium paper called Mohawk Superfine that has a 25% cotton content and a fancy eggshell texture. I like to write with fountain pens and it's my go to. The texture grabs the tip of my pen and just gives a really lovely writing experience.

This journal will lay mostly flat while writing but might need a little coaxing. The journal isn't cosmetically perfect, which is why I have it priced more affordably. The endpages don't fully extend over the textblock (shown in the last photo) and some of the gold tooling is patchy in places, but the journal itself is structurally sound and will last a long time.
